NFA Performances

Time goes by very fast!  We attended to the NFA (The National Flute Association)'s annual convention 8/11-14!  We were selected to play in a tribute concert for our former flute professor at the Ohio State University, KBJ: a former president of the NFA for several times, a great mentor for both of us, award winner for the NFA 2011... list can go mils long... All of her former students got together and performed in a concert honoring her.  Which was very touching moment...  Morgann and I met through attending KBJ's Summer Highschool Flute Workshop all the way back in 2002... Our friendship and musicianship clicked, and here we are as Dual Reveries... performing in KBJ concert... We were very happy we could be part of this concert.  What a great honor... and many many appreciation to our great mentor.

2011 NFA convention was a very memorable one...!!!!!!  We are very proud to be a buckeye flutists :)

OH.....  IO..!!!!

I cannot believe, that it is already August!!!! Busy June went by, then July... I am finally in Madison, WI with Morgann!!! Dual Reveries finally re-united last weekend after whole year of not seeing each other!!! Even though how long we haven't seen each other, distance does not matter to us... Well, it would be amazing to make music with her all the time, however, America-France does not seem that far to us :)  We will have few weeks of exciting summer together!!! Thanks to great friendship and musicianship she provides.... :)

Happy Happy Birthday and Tour Wrap-up

Happy, happy birthday, Kana!!!!!!!!!! I wish that I was still in Columbus to celebrate, but I know it will be wonderful. I'm so lucky to share so many experiences with a great, true friend. Musical experiences, too! Thanks for being "Dual Reveries" with me!

After all the planning and practicing leading up to the tour, it's hard to believe that I'm already back in Madison. We had a truly phenomenal trip, and felt so lucky to share our music with so many people! I felt especially lucky to be able to give a recital in my hometown - it was wonderful to reconnect with so many people I hardly get to see anymore.

Our concerts in Columbus went especially well and we raised money for two special causes - Breast Cancer Research and Pakistani Flood Relief - with great success. It was wonderful to see our Columbus friends and family, and especially to spend time with our teacher.

We are so grateful to everyone who came to see our recitals, and who shared what they enjoyed about our music with us afterwards. It's an amazing feeling to know that your music touches someone, or that it creates an imagery, or some much needed release and relaxation. Because of these experiences, we'll continue to make music and share with as many people as we are able! Thank you all for coming to hear us and giving us so much motivation!

I miss Kana now that I'm back in Madison, but I know that it won't be too long before our next adventure. ;)

Hope to see you all soon!!
Morgann

P.S. There is audio up from the tour on my website in the "listen" section: www.morgannelycedavis.com. Check it out! :)
